When people want entertainment, Jesus goes silent
May 03, 2026In Luke 23:6–12, Herod wanted Jesus to entertain him, not transform him—and that same danger exists in the modern church. Many people today come seeking flawless music, impressive lighting, and an emotional atmosphere, but never actually encounter the One those things are meant to point to. Like Herod, they enjoy the experience but miss the Savior standing right in front of them. When worship becomes entertainment, people become spectators instead of disciples, and Jesus—who refuses to be a performer—often goes unheard in the very place meant to reveal Him.
